Default 1991 EF takes a few crank to start up while cold, does it mean fuel pump getting bad

I got a 91 stock EF. Everytime when the engine is cold, the starter has to take a few cranks to start the engine. When the engine is warm, the car starts right up. Honestly it does not bother me that much. But a muscle car guy from work told me it could be a sigh of fuel pump getting bad... It freaks me out...I looked it on youtube, it is a pain to replace the fuel pump////

And it is not the motor/compression, I just had a new motor drop in.

Could it just be how the car ignition is programmed? Like you have to take a few cranks for the computer to generate ignition singal? If so why it does not do that when the car is warm? Different programs for cold and warm situations?

Do your EFs do the same thing?

Does this issue have to be addressed for reliability purpose?

It could be a lot of things, saying it's a fuel pump is a huge stab in the dark... Unless it's causing a problem, try not to worry about it.

Its not uncommon for a car to take longer to start when it's cold.

Ditto the above^^^

Try this, turn ign. on and wait till fuel pump stops priming, turn ign. off and repeat a few times before you try and start the engine, if that makes a diff. it points to fuel pump getting weak, but can still be OK for a long time. 94
