Default Broken 92 Civic hatchback latch

So for whatever random reason, the catch for my '92 civic hatchback sheered in half, leaving me with flopping hatch glass. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out what part it is that I need to replace here. Its the box on the back glass, where a windshield wiper would be attached to (mine does not have a wiper). Does that whole piece need to be replaced? If so, whats that part called? Thanks for any help, here's a couple pictures showing what I'm talking about:

Um, whoa. Never seen this problem before. Is it absolute zero degrees where you are? I just can't fathom how this would happen with such a clean break!

If you open up the black box on the window, you'll find there's a couple of bolts that hold the latch on. Easy fix once you have a replacement latch (junkyard).

Nope, it was probably 60 degrees out when it happened! Super strange, I thought.

I guess I should check out a junkyard. Believe it or not, I can't seem to find the part online anywhere.

The boneyard, [PicknPull] is a good bet, it may not even have to be off that MM&Y of car, I can't see how it would be different say off an Integra with hatch or trunk.

Just bring the broken one with you to match it up. 94

it *should* be this piece

74813-SR3-003 - Genuine Honda Striker, Tailgate

looks like you weren't the only one to have this issue: https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...piece-2904013/

Well thanks so much! Looks like that should be it. I really appreciate it.

Seems like its been a very random and rare issue to occur.
