Is my battery bad? I noticed this black residue on the clamp and post and I cleaned the post and the clamp (I'm not talking about the corrosion on the copper). A week later the residue is back on it. The negative terminal post and clamp looks fine it's just the positive side. It comes off easily I just scratched a little off of it to make sure. See pic below, what could it be. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you see that white residue around the caps ? That's acid leaking out. Replace it. It's also corroding around the terminals. Clean it all up and get some of that red stuff to put around the posts and the terminals of the new battery.
