Aftermarket wheelstuds- yes or no?
I am getting a separate set of wheels for autox racing. They are stock, and will fit the car like a glove. However, I will be torquing down a wheelset twice per race (race wheels, street wheels), and I race regularly.
I have a 93 Prelude. I have a torque wrench. Should I be concerned about the life of my stock studs, and get new ones? Or should I not worry about it? If I get new ones, should I get aftermarket, or OEM?
TIA

As long as you torque them correctly, they should last a long time. It doesn't hurt to have extras just in case.
Aftermarket studs are not necessary unless you are using wheel spacers.

never stripped a lugstud yet.
I've been known to run 4 different sets of wheels in one weekend.
Antiseize is your friend, only need a little dab on each stud.
In one weekend I'd go from 15x7 street wheels, to 14x6+slicks for drag racing, back to street wheel for trip home. Then maybe through on some 175/50/13's on steelies for some street playing. Come Sunday, toss on 13x7 autox wheels, then Sunday evening put street wheels back on.
BTW I use a impact gun whenever possible, just reduce setting to 2 when tightening (about 60-70 ft-lbs depending on line pressure) and then hit every lug nut with a torque wrench at 85 ft-lbs.
