Default Hello from Illinois!!!!

Hey everyone, My name is Matt and I own a 2001 Honda accord EX coupe that is a 5 speed, it has about 134,000 miles on it and its been my daily driver for about 5 months now until the caliper seal went bad on the back so I went back to driving my 2004 Chevy Avalanche and I've been missing my Honda like crazy lately and just haven't been motivated to fix it because I recently moved into a new house with small garage that only has one light in it as of now ( didn't have any when I bought the house lol ) and also I haven't moved my tools from the storage unit yet because I need a fork truck or about 5 big guys to help load into my truck.

So here's a little information about me, I used to be a hard core Mustang person until I got into a accident involving a mustang going around a corner at a autocross event and ended up rolling the car that built to run in autocross ( Never really been big into auto cross but I thought I'd give it a shot cause all my friend were doing it at the time ). After that incident I became more of a Chevrolet person because I grew up around Chevrolets and yes I owned several chevy's while owning mustangs. I am 24 years old and have had 12 mustangs in the past. As of almost 5 years ago I purchased my first Chevy Camaro, It was a bone stock 2001 Chevy Camaro SS with a 5.7L ls1 engine backed by a 6 speed transmission. The Camaro only had 20,000 miles on it when I purchased ( currently has about 73,000 miles on it because I actually drive it when its nice out and I drove it on the hot rod power tour every year since I've owned my Camaro. Most people probably think my Camaro is completely stock by looking at it but its a real head turner when I start it up. There not one bolt on the car that I haven't touched and yes its made about a 100 pass down the 1/4 mile track and about 10 down a 1/8 mile track.

Now a little bit about my Honda, I purchased in the middle of winter because we had a bad winter this past year (2015-2016) where I live and my lowered two wheel drive chevy Avalanche just wasn't cutting it in the middle of a snow storm. So I got on craigslist and found this 2001 Honda Accord EX with a 2.3L Vtec engine (f23a) and a 5 speed manual transmission. I went and looked at the Honda and made him a $600.00 offer he couldn't refuse. ( most people reading this probably think my Honda is junk because I only paid $600 for it but that's not the case. The guy need some money to bail his son out of jail and he was willing to do anything to help his son just like any man should do for their son/ daughter.) Anyways the car is completely RUST Free unlike almost every Honda I see in the state of Illinois, its a 2 owner car with being the third.

So the night I purchased my 2001 Honda accord I was driving it home and I didn't see a deere coming at me and it hit the side of the accord on the front fender. I still hasn't been fixed besides me replacing the headlights with some smoked head lights that I bought off of Amazon for $60.00 ( thought it was good deal witch turns out it was and it actually made the car look a little bit better. The car has several key marks from the previous owner when he got cought cheating on his wife with another man so needless to say it does need a paint job. But I did purchase brand new fender off ebay for $72.00 with free shipping.

My Honda has power everything including windows, drivers seat, sunroof/moon roof, power locks with factory key fob, Power mirrors and power truck release ( witch I have heard it is a rare option but correct me if I'm wrong on that because its just something I was told.) Also my car has leather interior that is mint and the only thing on the inside that is broke is the factory clock. Theres no stains or anything on the seats or floor of the car. Its also got factory "Accord" floor mats that match the interior really well and are really clean. Also came with a told to be factory "Honda" car cover that says "Honda" on the front where it would be laying on the hood. But other than that my car is pretty much stock besides a AEM Brute force true cold air intake and only reason it has that is because the stock air box had a crack in it on the very top edge and I couldn't find a replacement at the time, but I could find cold air intakes on craigslist all day long for about $25.00 with brand new filters. I paid $15.00 for the aem brute force cold air intake with brand new AEM filter and mounting kit for the intake pipe. Since I have installed that I actually noticed my gas milage went down by about 2 miles per gallon but whos counting anyways.

So here is my goal for my Honda, I've always wanted a boosted Honda civic hatch but never could afford to build one and didn't want to buy one that was already hacked together so my plan is to set this car for a turbo and run about 5-7 psi of boost on the stock engine.

Thanks for reading,
MATT
