94-97 Accord rear sway bar
Just got a minty 1997 Accord LX 4dr (Auto) recently, and rides smooth, but has alot more body roll than I would like.
I noticed that I don't have a rear sway bar, so I'm looking to get one.
? Is: Besides an EX stock rear sway bar, What other Honda/Acura models can I use?
I've been searching, but most threads are so old, and alot of people dont update.

90-93 Accord and 97-99 Acura CL share the same rear suspension.
Non-EX Accords may not have the rear crossmember drilled/stamped for the rear sway bar brackets. Verify that you can mount the bar.

DX/LX indeed do not have the provisions for the EX bar. Crossmember swap would solve that but it's a bit of work for just the small EX bar.
I recommend the Suspension Techniques bar. It's what I have on my 95 LX. Direct bolt on experience and made an absolute world of difference. Easily one of the best mods I've done to the car over the years. I believe Progress(?) also makes a bar but it's a bit more difficult to install.

I'm guessing ST is the way to go then.
Was hoping another model was compatible with little mods.
I'm not worried about modding, but I'm drawing a blank when there's not one to start with, cause I dont see no mounting points.
Thx for the input fellas.
I've done a ITR on my LS, and it improved the handling a ton.

Google searching and cant find a clear pic of how and where the rear sway bar is mounted.
Anyone got pics of EX and other rear sway bars?

1992-1994 acura vigor rear sway bars are the same as 1997-1999 acura CL rear sway bars ( 16mm )
94-97 Accord EX/Wagon/v6
15mm thickness.
1mm thicker than cb7 factory
I dont have pics but i just recently upgraded to polyurethane bushing on my sway bar
our rear sway bar end links connect to holes on the trailing arm fairly close to the drum/rotor the hole isnt perfectly round it has a straight in it to help keep the endlink mounted in place instead of rotating a full 360 the end links look more like pivoting arms that swivel on the sway bar (look up the part for it youll see what im talking about) the sway bar is tucked against the back of the fuel tank hold the sway bar up against it youll see the holes for the brackets and how they mount
ultra racing rear sway bar on ebay has a pic with no custom fab mounting/ all stock mounting i use their strut braces solid steel instead of aluminum that flexes like having extra sway bars i actually prefer them over most leading brands because they dont flex under stress like all aluminum strut bars do

I see the ST, Progress, and stock EX all seem to look different with different mounting points.
I guess I'm to used to Integra/Civic suspension.
Any body got pics, please post.

I've got the ST suspension in the front and rear of my LX.
With the Progress rear bar, you have to drill and tap. Hence why I went with the ST Suspension bar; it was super easy to install and the improvement was like night and day.

I have a front and rear sway bar off my 1995 ex wagoni can sell you for cheap. I upgraded last year and its just collecting dust in my garage. Let me know if interested.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this. When I finally get to upgrading I was going to start with the suspension. And my only thought about it so far was stiffer springs and perhaps those shocks that stiffen when current is applied. I'm not sure if that kind of shock is available for hondas or if it's strictly a Ford design. If the suspension techniques bar works great for your 95 lx, it should also work well to stiffen my 94lx suspension.
I just installed the ST rear bar on my 92 EX.
It uses an existing cross member to frame bolt to mount. I got this over the Progress bar because it didn't require drilling. Will get a chance to try the bar on the track this weekend.

Sway bars always make a difference in terms of cornering and feel, but it is also a question of if it is worth the money.
A few years ago I was on the fence about suspension techniques sways for my accord, but decided the $300 + install wasnt worth the hassle. My accord came with thicker sways than what came on the USDM models anyway, so it wasnt really worth it.
Just put on polyurethane sway bushings and that firmed things up a bit

Note that my accord had a rear sway bar and fairly large front bar. You can look up prothane, whiteline or energy suspension sway bar bushings (buy the black ones, not the red ones)
I can't suggest the exact model since you will have to measure, it might be specific to your vehicle. Also, I wouldn't siffen the front sway unless you have a rear sway bar as well

Yeah, those bushings and the polyurethane control arm bushings make a huge difference to handling with a small sacrifice (TO ME) of noise and harshness. Can't have one without the other, but to me it is worth changing them whenever you are doing work in any particular part of the suspension. Also making sure the sway bar endlinks are in good condition as well
