Default 97 sedan 2.2 no windows or locks

Hi guys, I'm new here so please dont flame me. If there's info out there somewhere, I can't find it.

Anyways, I just bought a 97 accord sedan W/ the 2.2 engine and auto trans. The windows, locks, and power mirrors do not work, period. No function from individual switches or the master switch on the drivers door. Ive checked every fuse in the car.

Ive done some searching and all I can find is info on 98 models and newer. I've read about the multiplex reset procedure but it seems my wiper ring is a bit different being '97, am I mistaken? Is there a procedure for the '97 model? I put the ring in the middle position and tried the procedure, I did it wrong or it didn't work.

Ive read aftermarket stereo's can cause issues, there was an aftermarket in it, I hooked up the OE stereo that came w/ it when I bought it, it doesn't work either. That could be the stereo itself though as I am unsure if the stereo worked in the first place.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

If all fuses in the car and under the hood are good, then make sure all the switches are connected, then I'd say try swapping out the master switch.

I just picked up a 97 Accord myself and just changed out my rear DS window motor/bracket.
I thought the damn new one was broke until I plug the rear handle switch back up. Whew..

Might be an old car, but it's a new car to me, so I gotta go over all the functionallities of the car and see what works and what not.

I have read about the master switch but I am unsure if everything on the 97 is run through the master switch, I have no function from the individual door switches either.

Welcome onboard!

You've got one of the greatest generations of Accord. This generation runs from 1994-1997 so most of their parts are interchangeable.

Your 97 is not the same as the 98 which is in a different generation so you were looking in wrong place. I would agree with StokelesS_g2, and would start physically check all other doors lock mechanism and make sure that they are all connected. It's pretty easy to take out the interior door trim if you know the steps. Here it is below assuming my memory is still good. instruction is for removing the front driver and passenger side door handle which is the first step before removing the interior door panel, but it is the same for the rear ones with less steps.

1. Pop up the small cover in the center of the bezel and remove the screw.
2. Gently slide the bezel forward to dislodge it from anchored holes in the back.
3. Slightly pull the bezel toward you to create room to work with behind the bezel.
4. Using the flat-tip screwdriver, carefully push/turn the small plastic clip away from the metal rod to unclip it.
5. Lift the metal rod up and remove the bezel from the door. Unclip the wiring harness if applicable.

6. Pop up the small cover and remove another screw at the bottom of that hole on the door.
7. Now you can safely pry out the panel around the door (use pry tool and not your flat tip screwdriver). Disconnect light connections at the bottom and door lock connection behind the panel before lifting it up and out of the locking rod on top.

Note the "Door lock controller unit" which you just disconnect it from the panel, it would be a rectangular unit bolted on to the metal door frame(driver side). I would try to replace it and see if that cure your lock/unlocking issue. You can get it from salvage yard for $5 (1994-1997 accord)

I am not sure where the control unit or relay for your windows is but it could be the same unit I mentioned above since all the wire on that door seem to run/terminate into it. Perhaps, you can do your research while you're at the salvage yard. You can find your car generation all over in there. If you do go, take along a buddy for safety reason. You don't know what the previous guys left behind.

So I swapped out the master switch, no difference. Anyone have wiring diagram or a schematic for the switch circuit? Maybe perhaps where I should have power? I used my powerprobe and applied voltage to a terminal in the old switch and the window went up, I also have voltage at some of the terminals, just not sure where im supposed to or not?

Try wiggling the door jam loom and hit the switches.

I had a 4dr Teg, and the ground wire in the door plug came loose. After a ton of trail n error and tugging each wire, my black one came off. Rewired, smiled, then popped open a beer.

Check the door jamb wires, it's more than likely one or more is snapped free. Also check the underhood fuse box as well as the dash one. Do more than a visual check on the fuses. Actually see if there is voltage on both fuse legs
