Default Back pressure problem

Hey guys.
Just finished swapping a gsr, high compression build into my eg6. Sometimes on start up it has to turn over quite a few times before it actually fires and I've determined its due to a slight lack of back pressure. N/A and large piping. My question; is there such a device out there (like a butterfly valve or something) that will create back pressure on start up and then open while running? Or is this ludicrous?

How did you make the determination that you are lacking backpressure?
Provide more details on your build.

Backpressure is nonsense. You can have nothing but an exhaust manifold on there and it will start just fine. Don't apply 1960's domestic folklore to your fuel injected Honda.

What ECU are you running? Who tuned it? If you spray some start up fluid in there, does it start better? You need to tune your start up fuel prime. Monitor or log your cam/crank sync and see if it's lagging or something.
