If so...is it just pretty much a wet-down course?
Rain tires a must for this kind of event? I mean, I don't think a max performance tire is the way to go in this case.

i think there were only two events that the ground was wet, not even raining, last year in SFR slush round. the rest of the time, its just like the rest of the year, just cooler. hey, its california! so use what you got.

That's only a nickname for our winter events.

Ditto... ditto...

There is no intentional spraying down of the course, its not a gimmick series. It is only the name given to the San Francisco Region's mini-fall/winter series due to the time of the year. Also, there may or may not be "Slush" or "Winter" series in other regions. Ironically, the weather usually plays more of a factor in the opening rounds of the Championship series since we start that in late Jan.

The only real rain event that I can remember (I've been racing a year) was the one at the Coliseum in March that made news in the N A Pylon. It was delightfully fun, I might add. But anyway, to answer your question, no, I don't think rain tires would be much of an advantage for general slush-season use. Most of the time, the course is dry.
