ef resistor box compatibility

ef resistor box compatibility
okay..so i think i bought a prelude resistor box with the grey plug..will it work the same in my 91 civic or should i return it and get the oem green plug one?
or should i cut off the connectors and just hard wire it?
or are they not compatible?
