Timing marks don't line up. Now what?
I am in the middle of changing my timing belt, but my rear timing mark is not lining up with the other two marks. I took the belt off and tried rotating the sprocket clockwise a little to line things up. Did I screw this up? Do I need to take the valve cover off and loosen bolts? Help Odyssey 2007. V6 LX
I took it to a tech and he just turned the back cam backward to line up the mark, put the timing belt back on and no problem. I didn't want to do this because I was concerned that I might have to do something by feel, and that only a tech would know how to do this. I guess I'm glad that I have piece of mind. The guy who did it was an independent, and he put the thing back together for a couple of hundred bucks... I'm sure Honda would have charged me for the whole job.
