Honda will not honor Takata Inflator recall on my 2001 Honda Accord
Honda will not honor the recall on the Takata inflators for my 2001 Honda Accord. I am currently driving a dangerous vehicle that has a recall required by law for Honda to repair. I made phone calls to Honda again and again and they insist that I drove to a location 3-4 hours away from where I live and have already done the recall, which I definitely have not done. The last person I spoke to said there is nothing they can do for me so I was forced to take more extreme action.
I have reported Honda to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) who recommended that I also report them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which I have done as well. The FTC informed me that they will commence an investigation and contact me at a later date.
I have ran out of phone numbers to call within Honda and am now bringing this to the forum and social media the public can know about this and anyone who is having similar problems will know they are not alone. I encourage anyone having similar issues to do the same. I certainly hope Honda realizes that they need to take care of this as soon as possible otherwise they will face legal action.

I think you are on the right track. If you are the original owner and you know it wasn't done my guess is it's possible somehow the VIN was entered wrong when it was done to a different car.
@19Accord97
The issue is not even that they told me that they don't have enough replacements, but that they told me it was already completed on my car and they won't fix it.

I am not the original owner, but I have had the car for a couple of years now. But they told me I had the part replaced January 29th this year.
The weird part is each time I talk to someone they give me a different location that I apparently got it fixed at. When I called Vandergriff Honda they said the location didn't even exist. The one far away I mentioned is the last place that I was told the work was done at before I was told they couldn't do anything for me.

If I remember right, they told me to call the dealer for that, which always runs into a dead end with the dealer saying it was done somewhere else...
