Default Inner CV joint breaking EK b18c

hello everyone,

i have a swapped 1998 EK with b18c makes around 440whp (6262@22psi)

now im a street guy, no track for me.

recently i started to break my Inner CV joints.

ones on the driver side and twice on the passenger..

i noticed that it's happening mostly if the car pulls to one side and i need to correct it to the other side (very slightly)

it's also happen in 16psi.. so i do not think it's mostly power-related..

now i think my axels belong to CRV (we do not have teg's here..)

now before i go with DSS..

anyone has any idea why could this happens?

You should be running 99-00 Civic Si axles with a B series in an EK. If you are using CRV axles, I would say double check the length verses axles for a 99 Si, cause I would assume the length is wrong.

What country are you in? This may help me find a more suitable local vehicle you can use axles from.

I can't think of anything from Isreal, I know South Africa got the Ballade which come with a B18 but that doesn't really help you.

If the axles fit correctly you may have to adjust your driving style. The people I see breaking a lot of axles are revving high and just letting the clutch slam out. If you preload the axle first they tend to last a lot longer.

ok, after some testing i measured my axles and compered the length to Autozone.com axles. same length.

but when i check the free space in my drive side, i have at about 2cm free.

that can cause the axle to pull away from the tranny and not "working" in the middle of the inner CV, and work on the side that is close to the inner cv exit (sorry for my English, i don't know the technical terms )

anyone had this problem ??

Any pictures? Sometimes a picture is worth 1000 words.

I'm not quite sure I understand. It either sounds like the driver's side axle is pulling apart inside the inner joint because the shaft is too short or it's pulling the whole inner joint out of the transmission. Again pictures or a short video would probably help. It's also possible that the intermediate or "Half shaft" on is the wrong one for the axle you are using.

that is my problem. and it's not just the driver side, it's both sides.
and it doesn't matter if I'm in full boost or not in can happen in 15psi.

unfortunately I don't have any pic's... but I think now toy get the Idea,

here we don't have a track so we usually roll race.

Someone else can confirm if CRV axles are the same. I can tell that for sure 94-01 integra axles will also work with a b series in an EK chassis. The only difference is whether or not the axle has an abs ring pressed on.

CR-V axles aren't the same, outer joints are 36mm, Integra (except Type R) are 32mm. Integra Type R are 36mm but they're still different axles than CR-V, even the inner and outer joints are different part numbers. The only really interesting thing I got out of comparing a bunch of part numbers is that the automatic 2wd CR-Vs use an intermediate shaft originally used on '92 - '95 JDM Civic SiRs. I'm guessing that The CR-V axles are different length among other things. Honda used a bunch of different intermediate shafts over the years and the length is often different and the driver's side axle has to match it or you'll end up with an axle too short or long.

crv and integra axles are different.

when they redo mine they write on the axles CRV.
so I did think that they are the same. but it's not.

my axles belong to B18c4 engine with S9B tranny. was sitting on MB6 civic in England.

OK We checked the length !!

we put the car on a lift and straiten the level of the wheels like if the car was on the ground.

axle is connected without the 32mm bolt

when we pulled the axle to the wheel side it seems that the inner side is getting to the end of the CV cup (theoretically if i pull more it will come out of the cup)

we know that it only need to get to the middle of the cup.

im sorry for my english, I do not know the technical languish [=
