Car Guys: 99 & Honda Civic. Dash lites stay on all nite draining battery. Replaced dimmer switch and headlite switch. No change. Kicker is i took the fuse out of the dash lites because b4 that the tail lites stayed on too! Makes no sense. Help!

 

Remove the light switch. Do the lights turn off?

 

I replaced it... the lites still work... i didnt turn on the lites w the switch out cuz you cant.

As RonJ asked, unplug the light switch, when you do, do the lights go out?

Tail lights and dash lights are on the same circuit but fused separately, there is only two places the lights can get power, from the light switch or if a power has been plugged into the light "free pin" on the under dash fuse box.

Do you have an alarm or other aftermarket electronics installed in your car? 94
