Default 2001 Accord

I have read that the main relay could be causing my no starts and hard starts??? Can that cause the car to try to stall out also when coming off a higher rev to a stop? i would think it would not.

My guess is that it is more likely that you have a fuel pressure and/or fuel injector problem. Try cleaning the injectors and test the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Scotty Kilmer has a bunch of YouTube videos on how to do this. It may also be that you've got a desperately dirty engine air filter. Check that too and replace it if there is any doubt.

My Accord EX 2001 has been acting up. I have to move the shift from D4 to D3 or 2 as I go along! It has literally become a manual transmission. It is no longer automatic. Lately, sometimes the R is OK sometimes, it doesnt. I have to park and turn off engine and start and then R and it works. What is happening. Please help.

Pulled main relay per many folks on the net and other forums say can be the issue. Mine looks brand new. Had an electrician at my job look at it, he says it look new. No bad solder or a crack in anything.
If this is a crank sensor that comes and goes should I not see CHECK LIGHT???
I think I will try a used dizzy next. My components in mine are HITACHI. I assume I need the same type of dizzy then.

Regarding the hard shifting I suggest checking your transmission fluid. You may want to just change it only use Honda brand fluid as these Honda automatic transmissions are very finicky. Scotty Kilmer, a famous mechanic, says all the time that Honda's should always and only use Honda brand transmission fluid.

Ah nice thread crap. Your issue had nothing to do with mine. Ya may want to start your own thread specific to you issue.
