Skunk 2 rear control arm not lining up.
Hi guys,
I recently got a pair of skunk 2 lower control arm. Finally got the chance of installing them. After comparing side by side, the stock looks very different compare to the skunk 2. It has a curve compare to the straight profile of the skunk 2. Lining them up the bolt holes is still a little off. I assume they're set up for better handling. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I had a real hard time installing them too. I bolted the trailing arm first, then the struts, and finally had to push the arm towards the rear of the car to get it in the slot.... Is this normal for these after market parts?
I double check the box and the control arm to the website and they match up.
Skunk 2 stock # 942050095 for 1988-1991 dx
I also check my alignment afterwards and find both side of the rear to be toeing out a bit.
Any assurance would be great. I would hate to have my control arm breaking off one of the bolt bracket while I'm on the highway.
Ps, anyone know where I could find the steering rack and pinion bushing? Part 10 in the picture. Can't seem to find the part that look like it. Unless they came up with a different style that works better. Please let me know.

Try bolting the arms like this
Subframe>strut>trailing arm
Use body weight on the trailing arm holding it upward untill you bolt in the sub and strut bolts and it should line right up.

bolt the arm to the subframe and shock first. dont tighten all the way, just a turn or two from tight.
put a jack under the arm, then the trailing arm bolt will go straight thru, maybe with a little guidance, thats why its pointy at the tip.
doing it in reverse will not get you good results.
then dont forget to tighten all the bolts at the loaded ride height. this is the proper and only way to do it without cracking bushings.
the steering rack end bushing is from the dealer. why is this so confusing??
Oh man, not only did I do it backwards but I tighten when it was in the air... I think it's time to redo the arms.... Hope it's not too late.
Thank for the heads up.
