I don't think they would be rated for the weight of a car. If it's something that's been gutted and super light on the rear then you MIGHT be able to get away with it. Just my thoughts.
The old school tire was the 165R15 . . . the only thing they came on was volkswagons.
Few stock them anymore although the last time I bought a set they were around $50 a piece

What's everyone think about the Mickey Thompson sportsman skinny tire. It actually has a tread pattern on it. But I see Mickey only rated it for 130mph which doesn't make sense. I think the et front has a 200mph rating
Also street bike tires that are made for cruisers which are heavy I can't see weight being a issue considering it's only the rear corner of the car. Anyone corner balanced a car. I can't imagine a rear corner being more then 500lbs

i went through all of this already. skinniest tire i could find that was speed rated was a 195 goodyear all season. there are a lot of skinny tires out there. but non of them are rated over like 120mph. scary to me
use a tire that is rated for the duty. I don't want your *** getting a flat rear tire potentially making you unstable next to me because you didn't use the right tire.
motorcycle tires have a teeny contact patch which would not allow for great traction. seems like a terrible idea
if you go on ebay you can find a pair of 145/50 nankangs for like 150$ speed rating is like 120 or something close to that. i cant see going 150mph on them for a few seconds posing an issue. especially on a lightweight hatch/coupe
