Default Having trouble with my ZC engine over heating

Im new to the honda scene and need some help. I just swapped a d series with a zc sohc in my 91 honda civic lx 4 door. It starts but it over heats a little and jerks alot when driving. I don't know if its the timing. Just need some advice.

Welcome. I'd start with the cheap no cost diagnosis which is verifying the fan is working and checking if there are bubbles in the radiator when the engine is running (pull cap off with radiator cool enough to do so and then start/run engine).
