EG/B16a swap - CEL is on but does not blink codes with service connector jumped
I have a ek hatch with a stock OBO B16a engine with a p30 basemap into a p28 ecu. I tried jumping the ecu many times and I can't get the check engine light to blink it just stays solid. My car does not rev pass 4500 rpm and does not drive faster then 45mph. Rpm fluctuates sometimes when I come to a stop. Timing is good and engine idle fine when I don't drive it. I really need to figure out wth is wrong with my engine any info I would appreciate.
Yes it stays on steady when the engine is running. I forgot to mention that it has no power at all it revs slowly and picks up speed slowly.
The last time I had this happen, it was a bad ecu/chip. If you have another ECU to swap out, I would try this and see if it does the same thing
Yeah I tried jumping it while the engine while running and the check engine light is still on and not blinking. I'll try to swap out the ecu and see if that makes the check engine come in or not
You can cause a fault such as disconnecting the O2 sensor make sure CEL comes on and code is readable.
Double check the timing. Won't rev over a certain rpm but no CEL is very often because a cam is out of time.

However, do what mk378 suggested (unplug O2 sensor) to verify.
