1989 Wago wont start. Need HELP
Ok so i bought a 1989 Civic Wagon. Car is in great shape dude told me all it needed was a starter, distributor & the ignition switch to be hooked back up. So the 2nd day i was messing with it and it would push start just fine and run just fine no problems asked. With the key all the dash lights come on but just a click. Wont crank or anything. Well i bought a new starter put it in and still just clicking. And sometimes all the dash lights start flashing randomly until i turn the key off. Fuel pump is priming for sure, battery is good, starter is good. ive checked the ECU, IG, starter signal fuses and they are all good. Honestly i am dumbfounded and cant find a solution. Please someone help
I would take a look at the ignition switch wiring. Possibly the wagon had an alarm and they cut into the power wires on the ignition switch. I had this happen to me in a 90 civic si. They had cut the wire because the alarm required it to run through the brain and once the alarm was removed they never reconnected the wires. Let us know if you find the problem.
clean ignition switch contacts, springs are likely ok.
