I'm toying with the idea of somehow making the amber turn signal bit red to match the rest of the light, then just having the reverse light as clear. (Here's my attempt at a mock-up, still a little orange)

 

look at overlays. 8th gen guys use them all the time.

 

dupli color metal cast red then use a uv clear. few coats then wet sand and compound

 

Here's a picture of my tailights. Did 3 coats of red Nightshade then 3 of clear. They turned out pretty good and have had them like this for about a year now. When signaling there is no hint of orange even with a clear bulb.

 

some day im going to personalize my project EG hatch's lights with custom LED boards and chasing turn signals microcontroller so i can also have them chase for a normal turn or in a sideways U for a U turn. like this:
