How to fix this........................??
I have the same problem. I fixed the one side but the other side still has about a 1/4 inch gap. You have to remove the interior panels to get access to the 4 bolts holding the rear bumper on.
Step by step:
1. remove 2 clips underneath the bumper
2. remove rear middle trunk interior panel
3. unplug the license plate lights from the inside of the trunk
4. remove side interior panels (you can get away with just removing the rear portion of the bolts and bending the panels to get access to the two bolts).
5. remove the 2 bolts holding the bumper to the fender
6. remove the 4 bolts holding the main bumper bracket (located inside the trunk...these are the bolts that were behind the interior panels).
Installation is reverse of removal.
99% of the problem is the rear bumper support bracket (the one with the 4 bolts holding it onto the car), just bend it till you get the bumper sitting right. It's all trial and error.
