Default Airbag - CR-V

2011 CR-V - Anyone know of an easy way to temporarily disconnect the drivers side airbag?

inside the steering wheel? turn the wheel so its upside down. theres a small access pannel that can be opened with a small screw driver. unclip the yellow connector.

Thanks. I was hoping there was a fuse somewhere that could be pulled. My CR-V is part of the Takata air bag recall and I was thinking about just disabling it until the parts arrive this summer.

if youre concerned with it, just unplug it directly. the airbag light will be on though. takes 2 seconds. 0% chance it'll deploy by unplugging it. ive changed a LOT of these airbags.

thanks for the tip my 2010 is also part of the recall. You could also hit up your dealership for a free rental car. I'm pretty sure they have to accommodate you.
I'll just unplug mine tonight.

I was all ready to just disconnect it per LDforget's post but my wife wouldn't go for it, so I went ahead a picked up a Honda long term loaner car today. Got a brand new (3 miles on the odo.), 2016 CR-V. Airbag parts won't be in until June. Kind of a pain having a rental. I like my 2011 a LOT more than this new one.

With the 2016 on loan, I'll get to see if there is anything to the vibration problems that were supposedly fixed for the 2016 model. I've read reports of a few 2016's still having the problem.
