I have a 2002 honda accord 4cyl. My engine is sputtering while idling and when I am excelerating in the 2000 rpm range and my cel is on. When I listen under the hood I hear a click, every time it sputters, coming from the harness where the spark plug wires go to. I opened the harness and it looked good and clean in there. People at auto zone and o'rily said same thing, could be too big of a gap on spark plug or bad spark plug wire. I checked the spark plugs and they look fine however one of the spark plug wires looked brown-ish and dirty. I replaced that wire and nothing is different.

 

If the CEL is on, beg/borrow/steal an OBDII code reader and retrieve the code.

Start with the basics. Replace your sparks plugs and gap em correctly, and replace your distributor cap and distributor rotor.
