95 civic d16z6 - Engine Idle problem & CEL code 15
Hi everyone. I've got a 1995 civic 1.6L vtec d16z6. My issue I believe lies with the idle air control valve but its a strange symptom. In park or neutral ONLY, the car doesn't know where to idle at. It revs up to 1600 rpm's then throttles back down to about 800-900 rpm's and the back up again. Basically it doesn't know where to idle at so it repeats that action until I with put the transmission in gear OR I turn the headlights on. Running lights have no affect on the idle. Any idea's? Thanks in advance and I'd be happy to provide any other known info if needed.
I have a d16y8 on my 97 coupe and it was doing that and it could be a vacuum leak but mainly it's was the throttle position sensor (TPS) it's about 76 at autozone might be able to find it cheaper online
Okay sorry for the leave of absence. The cel is 15. So to this point I have found that the idle screw was backed out to far. I tightened it with the engine warm and set it to 650-700. I've replaced the pgm-fi module; the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The idle screw seems to have solved the "idle search". After I installed the ign. switch I still got cel 15 along with rapid flashing of the SRS lamp. Is a reset of the cel memory in need or will it reset itself?
