yay or nay new ride
Yay or nay guys
We are looking for a second crv for my wife now. Budget is a little on the tight side as we are working on our credit card debt. Scouring though craigslist I’ve been finding a few cars like this one. Looks decent, but high km about 330,000. Asking price is usually $1500-$2000 for ones with this much mileage. I expect belts breaks maybe cv joints need doing so that’s at least another$1500 in repairs.
Would you guys go for one with that high of km???? Just to pray the auto tranny survives another 2-3 years, or would you take a pass? Remember this is for the wife not me so no dreams of s2000 motor swap lol
What is the max mileage is should be looking at for a decent CRV
The one in the pic is a 97
or bite the bullet and finance a new fit
find a gen 2 if you can. nicer inside, more torque, no timing belt (has a timing chain). If youre thrifty enough you can find one for about the same price.
eh, cv's and belts are cheap if you can do it yourself. even the head isn't the end of the world. basically if you can do your own work I would not be scared of buying high miles. for 1500 you could do a ton of maintenance or save up or use that hypothetical 1500 to get a lower mileage one if its a big concern.
