So i just bought a 99 coupe with a H23a/S80 tranny. I've been seeing people all over the internet claim that an H2b swap should easily be in the 13's if not 12's. I have absolutely zero traction issues and i'm a decent driver but i doubt that my car would break into the 14's.

Nothing smokes the transmission is mint and some of the interior is even stripped. Was i expecting too much or is this it?

The only other "fast cars" that i've owned have been an srt4 and a bugeye wrx (both stage 2). My Honda doesn't even feel close to either one. I seriously doubt it could keep up with a bone stock srt4.

What do you guys think? Expecting too much? Hidden Engine problems?

Also should mention that the car has a highend header, CAI, "port and polish", and its running on S300.

 

Take it to a test and tune and find out.

What Clutch and Flywheel setup? LSD in transmission? When was the last tune up?

 

Fidanza 7.5lb, Act 6-puck, yes LSD its a type R tranny. Not sure on last tune up. Does anyone know where i can find an H23A basemap, i'm on S300.

This is a pretty good tune for h23. H2b with a h23a and type r trans is nothing wild but its definitely not slow. If its boring and weak somethings not right.
