Long time lurker - finally made an account because i needed to post a WTB thread. I know the forum rules can be pretty tough, so i figure I'll hit the two post minimum then make my way through the proper channels. I live in the Los Angeles area, technical knowledge is limited but I'm happy to help out when/where I can. I currently own a 1991 Si Hatch (My third. 512k on the clock) that I purchased in September with a blown motor. Recently drove it to and from Denver without a hitch so I'm pretty happy with the work that I've put into it so far… Some jack hole recently hit the driver side fender while it was parked and decided it would be best not to leave their info (hint hint on the WTB thread). The girlfriend owns a first gen carb'd CRX so I also have some knowledge there...
512,000 miles? That's amazing! Finding a Tahitian Green fender might be difficult. It seems to be a rare colour. I live in a city with 2 million people and yet mine is the only one I've seen in this colour.
Yours looks excellent! Thanks for sharing. Maybe it's just the angle, but did you shave the antenna? Is that the original paint?
For some reason unknown to me I have a strange affinity for the Tahitian Green hatches. This is my second (unfortunately I got into an accident with the first one in September of last year). I vigorously searched, and luckily found one within a couple of months. The miles were high but the interior was impeccable, motor mounts still intact and the body was fair. The guy I bought it for said he was the second owner and had it for a couple of years. From the look of things, it must have been well cared for. I've been keeping an eye out for the fender, no luck yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
Nope, mine still has its antenna, but your eyes aren't tricking you. I live in Australia, so the antenna is on the other side of the car.
The previous owner had the car repainted. I think it was done quite recently because the paint is pretty much immaculate. I love Tahitian Green, especially on a sunny day. I hope nothing ever happens to mine because it would be virtually impossible to find another one in the same condition in Australia.
