Rear hub / bearing removal
Hey Guys, I am trying to remove the rear hub / bearing assembly on a 99 crv. Any tips on getting this sucker off? I removed the 3 bolts from the back side, but nothing. What kind of puller works best? Is the hub pressed on the knuckle? Thanks for your help.
Even though my Write-Up is for the front and it has an actual knuckle, it is the same principle for how the hub is an interference fit with the wheel bearing itself:

For more detailed pictures on the rear trailing arm assembly, you can find them in my rear disc conversion guide (download the PDF):

The wheel bearing assembly should come right out. However, sometimes they are stuck in there due to rust... If you want to rent a slide hammer from your local parts store then that would be ideal too. You can find people posting pictures with links to those in the first thread I posted above.
Basically I would remove the hub first and the wheel bearing second. Of couse, you could just take the whole trailing arm assembly off and take it to a shop as well... or just the wheel bearing assembly for that matter to press the hub out and back in to the new wheel bearing... or use my wheel bearing write-up as a guide. Many choices...
The only difference might be if you have a 2WD rather than a 4WD model, but it just uses stubs on the 2WD model instead of an axle cup. Good luck!
