Default Thread where I ask dumb questions about an h22 swapped accord I just bought

So I recently bought a 2002 accord coupe with an h22 in it. It's been a while since I've done anything with a honda, so I'm definitely out of the loop. I was hoping maybe a few people would know answers to some of the questions I have.

In no particular order,
can the accord's engine computer be programmed to run the h22? I know most people will say no, but I read something that said honda ecus became reflash capable in '02, before all cars were legally required to be in '04. ?

The car currently has a p28 ecu. Does the p28 control the cooling fans in the civic, or is that via a thermal switch on the head? I cannot remember if I even knew that at one point in time.

Will 225/45/17s fit the '02 accord? They are the same diameter as the 195/65/15 oem size.

Any recommendations for street friendly good quality coilovers in 2016? I'm not talking ground control garbage threaded sleeves that fit over shocks, I'm talking like the whole thing as a package.

Here's a video of the car and me asking about all this stuff and more if you want to see it. I was just getting over a pretty lousy flu, at the beginning I just could not think clearly, but once the video gets going I start sounding more normal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaP5...ature=youtu.be

Hey. Im see if i could help you out alil the ecu you have is good for h to tune. You coud stick with that the driver mount you could use the f23 bracket that come on the motor that came with the car the ps line i i think the h22 line would work not to sure the intake you could leave it like that you will be fine or add a spacer and see if it clear

No the stock 98-02 ECU's cannot be remapped/flashed to run a an H22 engine properly.

That being said, if your current P28 is chipped/modified. It is more than capable of being tuned and run the H22 without any issues.

Yes the P28 has a Fan control circuit (Pin A12)

Not sure on this one, I went with lowering springs and adjustable shocks!

If you look at the suspension threads on any Accord Forum I'm sure you will see FAQ's on what is good and what is not. You are correct in saying that GC are garbage!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'll post up as I slowly progress on this car. I'll get it rolling soon, one step at a time I guess. I wish the h22a4 could make power without having to be sleeved. But I've read all you have to do is whisper in its ear about boost and the sleeves crack. Is that really true, are they really that fragile? The way that motor slants back is really just begging for a big turbo, what else is all that space for?

It's not the sleeves that are the weak point. It's the piston ringlands that are the weak point. In order to upgrade the pistons there are limited options for FRM freindly pistons. That is why people opt to sleeve.

Hmm. I wonder what the difference is with the pistons. Different coefficient of thermal expansion/cylinder wall gap required with the weird sleeves? I suppose I'll have to look into that.

Got another 2 dumb questions for anyone who wants to answer. I know I really need to just buy the helm manual on this car, and I will, but I'm wondering at the moment about 2 more things. First, the cruise control is not hooked up, I noticed as I was creeping through the engine bay, I wonder why. Is the cruise integrated into the factory ecu? Second, the passenger mirror was smashed off so I bought another one on ebay, it's really nice factory honda, but has 2 more wires. Anyone know what those wires are for? They're black. I'd guess heated glass, or is the mirror I bought a folding one?
