B18C cracked block, genuine advice needed
I have a B18C with a cracked block.
I was informed the motor would run and shut off on its own after a while which would lead me to believe the crank and pistons were possibly damaged as well so I will assume they are possibly junk.
I know that the B18C family has different stroke than the A or B and even the B16 family. Other than getting another B18C shortblock, what are some alternative options (preferably budget oriented) to putting the b18C head to use?
any insightful and helpful advice welcome.
Thank you.

If the block is trashed beyond repair then pretty much all you can do is put the head on a different block. How much do you want to spend? You could get a low miles high compression JDM B20B for about $500 and just drop it straight in with an LS ECU, or you could do a B20VTEC build using your current head, or you could get a used GSR motor, occasionally they pop up on Craiglist for under $1000.
