The hole drilling?
Yes it will if you dont primer the holes.
Without drilling into the fenders youll need to use some adhesive tape, the flares will fly off as soon as you get on the road.
Here are the steps i would do.
Mock up flares to fender/wheel arches and tape them in place.
Drill holes in the flares where they have the slots for holes, penetrating the Fenders/ wheel arches behind it.
Remove the flares/tape.
Mask around the drilled holes and spray primer inside the holes.
Remove masking tape.
Put flares back on car and use a bolt going through the front of the face of the flare and a nut on the inside of the fenders to secure them in place.
Use a washer on the bolt head side and the nut side.
If i do get some ill be sure to do a diy!

I believe you need to cut / trim the fenders otherwise your widened wheels/tires are going to rub/hit the original fender unless you use narrow wheels that sit inside the original fender.

This is true if you want to lower the car with wider wheels.
If you just want the flare to cover the wide wheels and youre not currently rubbing, it will be fine.
If you put the flares on and narrow wheels so you wont rub it won't look good imo.

im not a fan of the lowering thing if anything i wouldn't mind it being raised a inch if it means fitting bigger tires and flares more clearance is always nice on a car that is already hard to get into lol

Well, are you trying to improve handling characteristics? Because lowering the car (in moderation) will effectively improve your handling characteristics by lowering the center of gravity.
