Steering u joint
1997 honda civic 1.6 5 speed originally had power steering I swapped the manual rack in and the splines on the rack match steering column but not new manual rack I just need to figure where to get the u joint. Or if it's just dealer item
No I want to eliminate the power steering just want good Ole simple manual steering no fluids to spill. Thus changing of the rack requires changing of the u joint to match the current stock steering column splines which is also the same as the rack. So there for where do I find the u joint all the part stores don't carry them around here.. Any help for a part number honda based or after market company would be awesome
OK I was wrong, there is such a thing as a non-PS 1996. The bottom u-joint is sold separately at dealers, but it is about $80-- and it may or may not fit the rest of the column. May be better to swap the whole column with one from a DX parts car to effect the complete conversion.
