Coolant fan turns on every 10 secs
After coming from a long drive today I noticed the rpm going high frequently. I get out of my car with the volt meter. Then notice the cooling fan kicks on every 8 to 10 seconds. The car is not over heating and it's 28°F outside . The volt tested at 14.6 but goes to like 12 when fan kicks on. Reserve tank is kind about between max and low. 07 civic si coupe
the fan will kick on and off depending on coolant temp. the fans work to help regulate the temp, so it is not uncommon for them to cycle multiple times.
have you flushed your coolant or swapped thermostats yet?

I got the caright almost a month ago. It's the blue kind and looks good, but I know that doesn't determine if it's good or not. The temp always stays below 1/2. So I feel it's not a thermostat issue.
Was the ac on ? And even if the ac is off, if the defroster is on and the blower is on then the ac will be working and the fans will be cycling off and on every 10 seconds or so.
If you have a digital gauge it would be easier to you to figure out the actual coolant temperature. Fan kicks on when it gets hot and turn off at the temperature they are supposed to, plus you are running AC. This leads to more load on the motor. Other reason is due to cooling system thermostat failing, blocked or damaged. You must visit car service station and ask auto electrician for its reason.
