94 bard civic ls

I got 94 civic hatch with a bard b18b1 ls and it needs a need motor can i replace it with a jdm b18b and still be able to pass smog?

I'm not 100% sure but my did. My 94 teggy's motor went kaboom on me and I rebuilt a b18b motor and slapped it in. Passed smog with no problems. I'm from Cali.
