VERY IMPORTANT! 2002 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl. Auto. After trying the "SRS light on" shorting reset trick over and over and the light still staying on I tried this. I thought maybe the whole system needs a "cold boot" like a computer. Try this, it worked for me. Disconnect negative (ground) connector AND the positive from the battery (I tried just disconnecting just the ground and this did not work so make sure you disconnect both). Wait at least 10 minutes just to be sure all energy is drained from all chips then re-connect positive then negative battery posts. Now try the SRS shorting trick. My light went out and stayed out and now works as it should. This may work on other year and models also, goodluck.
