I'm an old man and want to Build this little Hatch I picked up. It is a 94 Hatchback with a GSR swap on a LS trans. Only thing Ive done to it is add the wheels.

Tonight I picked up a 2000 SI Civic. It has full Coil Overs and DC Rear Arms, DC Header, B16, Rear disc, Nice Interior, a full Exhaust and the list keeps going.

How much of the SI can I swap into my EG Hatch. I was told the B16 Head on my GSR Bottom would pick up some power and that the SI Trans was Full Time LSD and had a better ratio for the GSR motor over the LS trans that is in the Hatch now.

What all will swap over? Will the SI Side Skirts fit on my hatch?

Can I swap the 00 SI Cluster into my 94 Hatch?

 

I will say, nothing of the body on the 2000 will fit your 94 without modifications. I'm not sure on the side skirts but I do suspect the connection methods and shapes did change so still requires modification.

Engine wise, B series to B series, the exhaust head can be stolen. You can swap the B16 head onto your GSR block and get a chipped ECU and have the car tuned. At the same time I would likely upgrade your cams, springs and retainers before the tune so you get even more oomph.

Suspension differs so it's not a direct bolt on.

Tranny is b series so will swap out the gsr tranny without issue.

And that's the extent of my knowledge, hopefully others will chip in with their knowledge.

 

b16 head isn't worth the effort. the transmission is, in a big way. suspension will work, you'll need to swap over the rear lca's from the si. the exhaust will NOT work without fabrication, it is too long. the rear seats do not fit, but the fronts will with a rail swap, or 3/4 bolts as is. cluster swap is commonly done as well, just search that one for a writeup with pinout info. if you want to use the si steering wheel, you'll need to swap over the column. header is a direct swap, you can also use the rear disc brakes. side skirts have been done 100000 times over, just search that one as well.

 

since you can'r really use the body, you'll have enough crap to swap back over to the si to have a running beater.

 

The B16 transmission will be a performance upgrade worth doing... except for the detail about it having a Limited Slip Differential. The B16 transmission stock from the factory has a standard open differential... not an LSD. It is possible that one has been installed into the transmission you have, but you cannot tell without looking into the axle holes of the trans. If you see a 1/2" diameter bar crossing through the middle of the opening, it is a stock open diff. If you can see all the way through the trans from axle hole to the opposite axle hole, either fully open or what looks to be a washer centered in the opening space, then it is equipped with a LSD.

Don't bother with swapping the B16A head for the GSR head... it will not be beneficial unless you do MAJOR modifications to the cylinder head itself. The GSR head is arguably a better choice as a raw casting. The stock valve springs, camshafts and combustion chambers are superior to the B16A head. You will also need to tune the engine when changing cylinder heads and intake manifold designs.

Old man as in I have owned a ton of honda's in my life but finally moved on to V8's.

The story on this car is that the guy that owned it died and the car was left sitting. I dont want to mess with fixing it and getting a title because in the past the back was hit and the bondo work is crap. This SI has full Tein Susp on it and a ton of aftermarket.I just want to swap as much as possible to my hatch before trashing whats left. If the Dash willfit I want to swap it.

I want as much of this 2000 SI in my 94 Hatch as I can put.
