Good afternoon.

Very grateful to participate in this community , I'm from Lima Peru, I have a dear friend query .

I have my Honda Civic 1992 Sedan, Motor 1.5 and for 2 weeks has been heating up , the mechanic who sees my car told me it was problem radiator , change it but now consumes refriguerante the tank fill it to full operation all day and night I see coming down to half as much there still driving and rises again but this so several days ago but no longer reheats it seems weird that behavior told me I should change the radiator cap although I'm not sure I can be .

If you are losing coolant it seems reasonable that it could only be going two places, either its leaking out on the ground or you are burning the coolant in the engine.

It sounds like a possible failed head gasket.

I would check the coolant system for leaks and if none are found I would suspect a head gasket

Thanks for your answer dear, but I changed the radiator and even the problem persists but ... now consumes less coolant tank than before, now I'll try changing radiator cap ( 1.1) , and see how it goes , by Moreover there are no leaks in the hoses

Start by replacing the radiator cap.

Next pressure test the cooling system for leaks.

If you still get no joy, use a block tester kit that detects exhaust gases in the cooling system (blown head gasket).

And when you replace the radiator cap, replace it with an OEM unit. No parts store crap. Get one from your local dealership, or an original one from a junk yard.
