Icon2 37820-P0H-L01 ecm vs 37820-P0H-L02

background: 97 Honda Accord EX 2.2 L vtec, M\T :Had issues with CEL, code P0401, insuffcient EGR air flow, replaced EGR, and mechanic cleaned ports..light still on, brought to dealership, they said the EGR is remaining open during Decel, spent three hours and a couple hundred to be told they THINK its the ECM. Replaced the vaccuum valve assy, just in case. cleared light with scan tool..remained off until about 100 miles, then CEL came back on, same code. friend has L01 and said I could have it, but unsure that it would work, I understand its just a difference in the version and all other numbers match, so I am wondering if it would be safe to use. Checked the Honda Parts site and it says that its not compatible, but see conflicting information. I am still wondering if the problem even is the ECM. HELP.

I just put an L02 in a '96 a few weeks ago. Works just fine. The salvage yard didn't want to sell it to me and gave me this long speech about "if you fry it...blah blah blah".

L01 = 1996
L02 = 1997

Yes sir! They are both OBD2 and will run any OBD2 F22B1 engine w/manual transmission.
