I figured it finally time for a build thread. This is my 1996 Dx hatchback. Right now it has the original d16y7 with 200,000 miles. It's running good, the clutch is ****. It came with this horrendous paint scheme, but the car was $1000 with no smog, which I took care of. It'll be getting a B series motor sometime this year hopefully. B16, b18c1 or c5 but probably not a c5.
Other goals are an EX front sway bar, type R rear sway bar, Yonaka cat back, UV resistant sun tint, add an alarm, drop it an inch on some bigger rims, re-upholster the head liner.
Here it is, the bumble bee. It's a pretty poor DIY job. It's going to Maaco to get painted "GM black". Just an easy to match color for future stuff. I'll be doing the side skirts and JDM thin side molding.
Type R shift leather knockoff, but real leather and pretty nice overall. Also got a Mugen knockoff shift ****.
The civic DX is painfully bare. It came with virtually nothing, so I pulled this arm rest. It's in roughly the same condition as the interior stuff.
Shift leather
I had to cheat the ECU to smog the car.
I installed the 94-01 teggy map light with dual LED's. It's very slightly off center, I'm going to replace the whole headliner with something I re-upholster later.
I lucked out at pick n pull. This dash bezel was completely removed and unbroken. I would definitely still have the other bezel right now.
The last owner decided that the paint wasn't ugly enough. Yes, this was painted, not sprayed.
Scored on the only HB head liner in the whole yard. Going to re-upholster with charcoal fabric and cut a slot for my teggy map light.
The side molding, side skirts and rubber trim are all gone. She's getting painted this coming Monday.<br/>
BNIB thin side molding. I'm going to inhale every molecule of escaping air from this box.
Bye bye!!
We forget who was there for us when we didn't have cars.
Maaco's going to paint a new hood.
I saw this. It will forever haunt my dreams.

Maaco kind of sucks and they don't have the brightest people working there, but over all the paint is good. I think Sanding down and clear coating the headlights next is a good goal, and to add some HID's until I can get a nice projector set up.
