Brake dust shields removal? anyone try this?
i'm going through some sites and guy mentioned removing his heat/dust shields on his 5th gen lude for better cooling? http://www.cockyracingguy.com/prelude.htm
and also - http://members.tripod.com/~Pre_ludE/pmods.html - at the bottom

It works fine, though if you're asking it implies this isn't for a track car. What ar you doing that you need the extra cooling on the street...
They will get wet easier than a shielded one so could be harder to stop in the wet.

They still won't really get wet, even when its raining... It does make it easier to work on your suspension/brakes when they are off... don't really need them off for any street driving, other than it looks better...
so it's not going to hurt anything? my car's ten years old so those heat shields ar looking a little rough, f-it, they're coming off! does anyone else feel as though they've accomplished something great when they just removed something they deemed unnecessary from their car?!?
Ya like that dampener thing on the front bumper of 5th gens. NOW I know why my car cost so much... Im sure the guys at Honda were thinking "wow at exactly 22.75 MPH the car bumper vibrates for aprox .25 sec. Guess well have to fix that!".... I took my brake shields off my last prelude and never had any problems, rain or not, but it does make look better IMO. Thats
for ya...
for ya...
