Default Stolen 94 Del Sol PG county md

My red 94 del sol si was stolen from my apartment complex in pg county on 2/16/16. anyone seen one around the area? dented hood and rear bumper, alien sticker on rear window that says 'believe'. i've attached a couple pictures.
Has anyone had their cars stolen in pg county, any common areas to look for my car?

Police report-file one.
Insurance claim-make one.
Include these pics.

Hell of a lot faster than posting on the internet.

Do you really think I didn't already take those steps and that I'm not just using forums to help spread the word? Nice try at being an @$$hole.

How could he possibly know? The advice given seems reasonable.

Think about it for a minute what's the first thing anybody does when they discover their car stolen? they called the police. What's the second thing they do they call their insurance provider. Him posting that is a hell of a lot faster to do all of the steps is kind of like calling someone an idiot for posting on the internet about a stolen car rather than calling the authorities. If he wasn't trying to be an a******* why would he write it the way he did? maybe the better phrase would smart a$$? Who goes around assuming that everybody is dumber than a rock? An a******

His intent was good and execution poor. Thank him and move on.

Sorry to hear you car was stolen. I can't and don't want to imagine that feeling! Not only do I hope you get your car back, whole, but that they catch the thief (or thieves) as well!

I'm nowhere near your area, but I'll keep an eye out. Good luck!

thanks, yeah very frustrating having a car stolen from you. I'm glad i didn't get too far into restoring it before they got it from me. already been 5 days, starting to lose hope of getting it back in one piece. appreciate the words and everyone keeping an eye out.

1st thing that should've been done was look into ways to prevent your car from getting stolen, since you didn't list anything I'm damn safe to assume you didn't do anything to prevent that.

Yeah if they want it bad enough they'll take it. But if you don't put in any effort than....well here we are today reading about a stolen del sol. GL finding it and hopefully it isn't trashed, stripped, raped repeatedly.

I married my wife 4 months ago, it was her car. She wanted my civic and I took over the del Sol, alarm was ordered but not installed yet...sorry for leaving that out, wasn't sure it was important since I didn't ask how to prevent in the first place? I had plans for alarm and kill switch, just didn't get to it yet. I'm an electrician, I work non stop. From getting married and work, work on civic and del sol I just didn't get to it. I guess hindsight is always 20/20 and alarm should've came first even though car was nearly undriveable until rest was fixed. The whole engine bay was flooded with oil and it sat for months until i got around to a tuneup and replacing all the gaskets. ...

Come on. This shouldn't matter. It's his fault someone stole his car?! Thieves suck and you call out the OP.

Locks only keep honest people honest. Reread the bolded text. Does it make sense?!

LOL'd. Not a response I'd expect from RonJ.

OP, at the very least these are free bumps on your thread and will keep it at the top.

A-hole is a bit strong, and I do hope the OP recovers the car.

Yeah true haha. And to the other guy I guess I could be coming off as an a******* but let me put it into perspective for you I came to the forums a few of them in fact to put the word out about the car and all I've got in the snarky comments from people about how I could have prevented it or do this or do that like insurance and filing a police report things that are obvious I only came here to put the word out and post pictures thanks anyways

Didn't intend to come off as an arselochen but had the misfortune of growing up in PG Co and remember how much of a crime-ridden craphole it is. Thankfully am long gone from that place.

And yes I do go around presuming that many people are dumber than a box of rocks because most of the people I've run into in my line of work unfortunately have been-for all I knew you were a 17 yr old kid who was having fun souping up his car which just got stolen. In that case-hence my advice. Obviously you aren't so good luck getting the thing back in one piece and sorry for the way I phrased my response.

A car gets you from A to B, I'm no bawler so yes my car as everything I need to do as much as I can to prevent a thief. I do maintenance, all oem, anything I missed or didn't spot before gets done as soon as I can. I want this car to last me. i don't have the cash flow to buy a brand new car every time it gets into an accident, stolen, hailed to **** by ice, breaks down. I've driven this car for 4 yrs now, saved 30k and only spent so far 4k. Yeah I'm glad I know how to work on cars and urge others to do the same.

I do all my own too, so what? Did you even read my reply to your orginal comment? And I don't have the $ to waste either, hence why it's fully insured. I still want it back over the payout on the claim. Why do you assume things about me?

Because you're not gonna get squat for a car in that condition. Thats why they don't recommend you put full coverage on an old car.

have you ever had full coverage on an old car? don't knock me for what you can't afford or refuse to pay. They are giving us a rental for the next 30 days free of charge, reimbursing us for property inside the vehicle, all the parts i just put on it and assures us they will provide us with enough to obtain another del sol si, and pay titling and registration fees... why are you being so negative towards me and my stolen car? I don't get what you're trying to prove other than you're a jerk. also if you plan on putting money into your car, i'm pretty sure most people recommend full coverage regardless of how old it is. Also have you never heard the phrase "To each their own"? Why concern yourself with what others spend? If we can afford full coverage on a 22 year old car, we're going to, my wife and I both have decent jobs and can decide what to spend our money on. Do you know what my plans were for the car? Do you know what condition it was in under the hood? You know none of these things so please stop making assumptions and telling me where i've "Gone wrong"(according to you tony).

Car has been recovered. They ran into the back of a metro bus in DC and fled the scene. I haven't seen the car yet, it's in an impound lot and not driveable per towing company and police. They also found a machete in the trunk that's not ours... Sounds like it's probably a total loss besides maybe getting some tools back. Insurance is going to go take care of it tomorrow and let me know if its totalled.

Sorry to hear.

It's interesting that they didn't chop it, but seems more like they took it for an extended joy ride.
