I bought an OEM tall spoiler found on the 99-00 Civic, commonly known as the SI spoiler.

I can drill the holes properly and mount it no problem, I want to wire it up as it came OEM.

From the instructions I see from handa.accesories.com it looks like you unplug the female connector from the third brake light at the bottom of the back window and plug the male OEM wire harness for the spoiler into it.

Did the 6th gen civics with the tall spoilers come with no third brake light at the bottom of the rear window?

Did it come with one but it was non functional?

Or did it use both brake lights, one at the bottom of rear window and one on wing? I would imagine that's how it came.

How to wire the thing as OEM as possible?

Just wish I had a bud with a civic with a wing!

 

I would use the plug that goes to the 3rd brake light on the parcel shelf. At least that what I remember when I took mine off. Ill check me car when I get a chance.

 

Would have had a non-functioning unit in the rear window. Everything but the bulb. Wiring piggy-backs on to the connector here.

 

Thanks. I'll just unplug the rear window third brake light and plug in my spoilers light. I installed one about 5 years ago and I believe I had both wires up, spoiler and window brake light. I probably ghetto rigged it.
