Parking lights stay on. Have to pull small light fuse to turn them off. HELP
I installed a new deck. Of course forgot to tape off the illumination wire like an idiot, BUT didn't think anything of it at all. Driving home then my dash lights go off. Ok check all fuses, noticed small light fuse is popped under the hood fuse box. Replaced it. Popped. Replaced it with a 20 amp. Popped. Replaced with a 30 amp like an idiot, yeah I'm not smart. Started smell something burning. Ok ran and took it out. Did some research, found out that wire causes that. Pull the deck sure enough its exposed and half melted. Ok cut the wire off. Replace the 15 amp fuse. Everything work good ok sweet.
BUT WAIT THERES MORE.
Turn off my car and my dash lights are still on. Lights are turned off and key is out of ignition and I open the door and the chime is beeping saying I left my lights on but I DIDN'T. The dash, rear tail lights and front parking lights are all on. The only way I can get them to turn off is to pull the small light fuse.
Is there any relay that I may have burnt or something? I hate electrical and have no idea what to check or whats what.
Re: Parking lights stay on. Have to pull small light fuse to turn them off. HELP
Took the steering column cover off. Pulled the plug. Nothing looked burnt. Put it back in. Followed the wires under the dash and saw the melted one. Kinda wiggled it around. Put the 15amp small light fuse in and the lights work normally again.
I guess we'll see how long it lasts til it starts acting up again.
