Default car struggles to start

97 integra rs
b18b swap

about 1 month ago my car started having a weird issue, again it is NOT all the time i can go weeks without the issue but randomly it will do it... when i try to start the car it will turn on and drop down to 0 rpm and shut off,,, ill try again to start it and again it will try to start but quickly throw rpm down to 0 and car shut off. now i have notice that when i try again and before the rpm goes down to shut off ill pump the gas all the way to 5k rpm or anywhere up there and and car will drop to normal rpm and operate perfectly without any issues....so what am coming to conclusion is it has to be anything with fuel pump related i think, because if i give it alot of gas it wont shut off ... any help guys or anyone with a similar issue before??

car has no issues runs really good no funny noises or smoke or nothing like that, i get 30 mpg highway cause i only drive highway mostly.

Sounds like ignition switch.

Next time it does this hold the key in the start position a little longer once the car is on and release the key. If the car stays on, its the ignition switch.

Nah, not the iacv, but the electric idle control. They are right next to reach other on my integra. The iacv under the throttle body (91/92 teggy) is serviceable for early models. The electric idle control is on the back of the intake manifold. Has two small coolant hoses and a 2 wire plug. Remove the 2 bolts holding it on, then you should be able to disconnect the lines. You'll lose some coolant. Anyway, the electric idle valve isn't serviceable. You can probably find one off a junked teg and chances are it'll be good. My didn't fail until 275,000 miles!
