Default Honda Starter Motors

I am going to the pick and pull to get a starter motor for my 94 Accord EX. And I am thinking the newer the better. So is there any difference in the motors used on the F series motors? Will a 2002 fit a 1994? Maybe there is some difference in the trans or flywheel that will cause a problem?

Not sure about 98-02 as both the transmissions are slightly different from 90-97 cars. Could always cross reference using Majestic Honda, or looking on RockAuto.

Majestic shows different part number between 94-95 and 96-97 as well as the later ones. This could be a small re-design that means nothing or it could be something else. I tried Rockauto and they have a large number of options, some part numbers the same between the different years and some not. Not even the same number of starters on each of the years. It's really hard to tell if they are the same or not. Anyhow, I found a low milage starter at the pick-and-pull and I plan to get this checked out before I drop a lot on a new one.
