Non VtAk high compression weird build
so I was bored today and messing with the compression calculator with a few parts I got laying around and this is the numbers I got and would like input or maybe would this even be worth building just for fun
d16y8 bottom end
p29 pistons
d15b7 head
y8 headgasket
the calculator came out to 11:1 ratio
do you think itll be worth it to build as a fun little daily motor? slap some bolt ons I/H/E and how much power do you think would it increase?
or just not build it at all?

The stock cam is going to limit you in a build like that.
Realistically all you would have is a stock motor build with slightly higher compression.

Honest opinion? If you're going to spend that money a B16 swap isn't much more and will kill it all over. Although I personally would never run a B16 in anything again after having "bigger" motors.
Yes.
I did pg6b pistons in an a6 (same head). Get the a6 cam at least the b7 cam is tiny.
I went ahead with a crane cam and bolt ons. It is fun to walk b16 civics.

Thanks for the input. Yea its just random parts laying around in my little storage / kick it spot. So thats no a bad idea.. maybe do some head work throw on the a6 cams. Would I keep the b7 cam gear. Or just use the a6 gear and basicaly have a high conpression d16a6 since the a6 and b7 head are identical upset the cams. Guessing I would be pushing around 125hp? Or more?
On the stock ecu it's hard to say. Afaik the b7 a6 and z6 cam gears are the same.
Any way power ought to be decent. The a6 was under rated heavily at 105/108hp at the crank. If you are running a p06 ecu it needs to be chipped. A pm6 might be fine with increased fuel pressure.
I was impressed with my build before a cam but now im loving it.

ive done the whole built b7 11;1 build single zc non v cam ported b7 head z6 intake ls tb and a nice header wasnt that great went 16.1 in a eg hatch reving to 7k with dx trans same car stock ls swap went 15.2 honestly if i was to ever build a single cam again it would have to be boosted based on the fact the trans u can use is far to tall of a gear for the power out put you have. but if your all about this build do b7 pistons on the y8 block 0 the piston to deck use a y7 head port it spend more time on the exhaust then the intake get a performer x intake 68mm tb 2.5: cold air with a blox v stack have delta regrind the y7 cam and go obd1 ecu tune it and have as much fun as it will give you.

if you have not bought the p29s yet seriously consider the pg6b, they are flattops and dont split the intake charge. by fuel consumtion my build is worth 160hp at the crank. I suspect 10-15 lower though due to improper timing curves.
my cost to build was less than a complete b16a swap, and mine was a full rebuild not an unknown miles used engine from some other country...
