Ys1 front gearbox mount. While I was doing up bottom bolt of Mount it has cracked the bellhousing from the bolt end to bolt end . What's a good way of fixing this issue .. apart from from getting new mounts etc .

 

you replace it or weld it. nothing else will work.

 

The ys1 cable gearbox was found on all manual versions of integra 1992-93. Though they looked the same, the ls version had taller gears than the 4.4 FD and gears found in GSR models.
The casings were the same, you could source one out, if it's worth it, depending on what version you have

 

Yeah took me a while to find that gearbox its the 4.4 final drive with an aftermarket lsd. Cost me 800 so I guess i'm welding it up then. Can you tig it ?

 

yeah that's what i thought ! You have to use TIG huh ?

 

Basically, yeah. TIG gives the best end result on aluminum. Cast aluminum is a little tricky to weld effectively, so choose your welder wisely if you want the repair to last.
