I have 02 rsx type s and will be pulling the motor and tranny out to repaint the whole car and engine bay. The engine runs fine but since ill have it out of the engine bay I want to go ahead and replace the whole timing assembly, I.e. chain, guides, tensioner, ect. I already have brand new in box oem oil pump, oem water pump, and a hybrid racing tensioner. The question is ive searched around for a complete timing kit and the usual generic brands pop up with EVERYTHING needed. Are any of these kits reliable? Has anyone here used/replaced the timing chain with them? Its not oem but says it "meets"or "exceeds" oem quality. Its cheaper than oem but not being OEM worries me.




Here is what says is a oem kit. Looks like id have to buy the oil pump chain/tensioner/guide... anything else?

Here is a ebay kit. Seems to have everything. Would you trust this kit? And why does this kit have gears?

one of my friends bought the kit off ebay. Although it had everything and the chain was the same. The plastic on the pieces that hold the chain in place was super cheap on the ebay kit. We ended up just reusing the factory parts other than the chain.
