1988 honda crx HF no CEL, replaced TPS... CEL code 7? HELP!
I have a 1988 honda crx hf that is completely stock. It has been running really strange for a couple of weeks. From right off an idle when the accelerator petal is pushed to the floor quickly, it will stall(like it ran out of gas) until the petal is let up and then slowly push down on the petal down again, then it acts normal. There was no CEL prior to having any issues.
I unplugged the orignal TPS while the car was running and I got an instant CEL. (I know the OBD-0 cars usually dont tell you a sensor is bad until it is really bad.)
I pulled the Original TPS from the throttle body after checking the Closed Voltage. It was 0.501V, Wide open was 4.22V. I installed a new TPS and could not get the voltage below 0.461V. I started the car and had a CEL almost immediately. I went and drove the car around with the new tps to see if there was a difference from before and now and throttle response was alot better. When the throttle petal was pushed on the floor it didnt stall. I reset the ECU, checked the voltage on the Yellow wire (+5) volts and got 4.99V. I checked the continuity of the Green wire, and it was fine.
I switched back to the original TPS that I didnt get a CEL with and now have a CEL.
What other sensors would cause a CEL 7?
I have replaced TPS sensors before and never had a headache like this.
Thank you for help.

anyone?
Would a bad map sensor cause the car to run like the TPS is bad? I can turn the key to the on position and the CEL comes on and goes off... but after starting it, about 5-10 seconds will pass by and the CEL stays solid and the only code is 7, for TPS?
thanks
